Summer Workout Information

Greetings Platte Valley High School Athletes and Families,

We are excited to announce that with guidance from the State and County Health Departments, we will be able to start offering in-person workout sessions with our coaches this summer.  Our Phase 1 plan offers combined strength and conditioning workouts open for all athletes (see schedule below).  As restrictions ease, our goal is to open up more opportunities for athletes to workout with their coaches.  We are asking that all athletes wishing to participate follow these protocols:

Phase 1 Schedule

During Phase 1, three workout sessions will be offered to high school students on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Athletes may attend 1 session per day.  Phase 1 workouts will be conducted on our outside practice facilities and will focus on general strength and conditioning.  Please choose carefully as you cannot switch or trade workout times during Phase 1.  Times offered are 7:00-8:00 AM, 8:30-9:30 AM and 6:00-7:00 PM.  All athletes must sign up through the SignUpGenius link.

COVID-19 Release Waiver and Warning Document

All athletes/parents must sign a COVID-19 release waiver for participating in summer 2020 workouts.  Athletes will be required to return this form before they can participate in any workouts this summer.  The COVID-19 release waiver can be downloaded at the link above, or it is available for pick-up at the high school and administration offices (when open).  Please also read the COVID-19 warning notification for students/parents information.

Restrooms/Locker Rooms and Drinking Fountains

During Phase 1 there is no locker room access.  All athletes must come dressed for the workout.  Restrooms are available on an emergency basis.  Drinking fountains will not be available, so all athletes are required to bring their own water and water bottle. We will not supply drinking water during Phase 1, and athletes cannot share a water bottle.  After all workouts, athletes should return home immediately, shower and wash their workout clothes.

Masks

Masks are encouraged for athletes, but not required.  

Daily Health Screenings

Each athlete will be screened upon arrival at the workout facility.  The screening includes a temperature check and completion of a verbal questionnaire about any signs/symptoms of COVID-19 and a brief history of contact with possible carriers.

Social Distancing and Equipment

Athletes will be required to adhere to 6’ social distancing protocols.  The use of equipment will be limited.  During Phase 1 there is no sharing of equipment.  All equipment will be sanitized before and after each athletes use.  Hand sanitizer will be readily available for athletes.
